they are flour mites, – when you store flour for a while those little pests appear, its best to keep it locked in a container because of that reason, – i suggest you throw it away now

( i dont think there would be any eggs laid in there at the factory, there are health and hygene rules to prevent that – i have always put mine into containers, and have not had a problem since the first )

even if you store flour in closed containers, it may have gotten eggs laid into it at the place it was ground or processed. not much you can do about that, though-most grains and grain products contain some sort of insect eggs.

Throw it away immediately! They are called flour mites. The flour has been there way too long. Next time try to store it in an air tight container. You’ll be able to keep the flour longer and you won’t get any bugs in it next time. I had this happen to me twice before I learned what the issue was. Trust me, I keep ALL of my flour in containers now, and I never had the problem again.

If all other items are clear of bugs ,this could be a type specific to flour, some bug that grows & thrives in flour,in any case it is wise to buy a package size that suits your requirment so that you do not have flour stored for very long,i keep the remains of a used packet in the fridge, oxxupies hardly any space.

I think they come out when its warmer weather, I get bugs in my flour too. I have found bugs in my Oatmeal. So when the warmer weather begins I put them both in the refrigerator.

your flour/pantry/kitchen would be infected with bugs, thats not good, its gross, throw out all food in your cabinet that isnt wrapped/air tight or not covered

Probably boll weevils. Do you live in the south? Toss the flour out, buy some new, and keep it in an airtight container.
